Lameness

All of our vets are experienced in Lameness investigations.
We are able to perform most lameness investigations at your yard including x-rays and ultrasonography however for more complex cases our vets may advice that you bring your horse into the clinic for further diagnostics.

Our facilities include:

• Hard lunge and trot up area
• Examination room
• Secure stabling for up to 6 horses.
• Areas for standing surgery and general anaesthetic

​Lameness investigations normally include:

• Clinical examination and palpation of limbs
• Watching the horse trot up and lunge including flexion tests
• +/- watching the horse being ridden
• Nerve and joint blocks to localise the lameness
• Advanced imaging including radiography and ultrasonography
  
•  We have the latest portable x-ray and ultrasonography machines. These can be used either at your yard or at the practice.
