What are your hobbies and interests?
I like spending time outdoors and when I am back in Portugal love to ride my families’ horses. I’m still new to this area so I haven’t found a place to ride here yet, but I would love to find somewhere soon. I also enjoy running, going to the gym and climbing.
Do you have any pets?
Back in Portugal I grew up with lots of animals. My family have 5 horses, 2 dogs and my dad races pigeons too. I miss my horses loads and I ride them every time I go back. I’m also considering getting a dog soon. So watch this space!
Who is your most memorable horse?
My most memorable horse is Zeus. He is a 16-year-old Lusitano, a Portuguese breed. We had him since he was 3 and I learned to ride with him. His gentle character makes him so special.
What do you like most about being a vet?
It has to be the horses! I just love them. I love the work also and have a particular interest in Ophthalmology. Eyes are so complex and fascinating. I also like other areas of equine medicine, imaging and rehabilitation.
